What’s New in Disney World’s Epcot! August 6, 2018
We had a case of wanderlust this week, and instead of getting out the passport and packing, we just hopped over to spend the day in Epcot. Our journey started with some time spent in Future World, followed by a trip around the World Showcase. And boy, did we find a lot new eats and buys for you on this “trip”!
Disney World’s Epcot Future World New Menu Items and Merchandise Updates
The Gourmet Popcorn Stand is sporting a bit of a new updated look. The purple and yellow on the cart are new. The menu is the same as always here.
Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion now offers an Oreo Chocolate Mousse. This has replaced the Chocolate Mousse Cake.
This looks a little more “chocolate” than “oreo” to us, but…
While enjoying the air conditioning in Sunshine Seasons be sure to check out the new Magic Cookie Bars available in the grab-and-go case. If you’re not familiar with these magical treats we can tell you they usually contain graham crackers, butter, sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, coconut, and chopped nuts. Disney must be using pecans in their version. Be sure to check with a cast member if you have any allergies or sensitivities as recipes can vary for these treats.
If you’re stopping in Fountain View (this park’s Starbucks location) or have a craving for a Boston Cream Pie you can pick up the new Boston Cream Pie Cupcake.
If you’re looking to hop on the iridescent trend you’ll also find Iridescent Headband Krispy Treats at Fountain View.
The cart that used to sell just turkey legs and mickey pretzels has a new pretzel-based menu.
The new menu includes Salted Caramel, Jalapeno and Cheese Stuffed, Cream Cheese, and (of course) Mickey Pretzels. Alas, the turkey legs are no longer available at this location.
If you have a turkey leg craving head over to Fife and Drum in the America Pavilion in World Showcase.
We’re always on the look-out for new spots to find our favorite cream cheese pretzel, so YAY!
On to Mouse Gear and the new merchandise!
The Disney Parks Passport Collection that has seen the stylized compass show up on all kinds of merchandise has expended their Dooney and Bourke collection with new prints.
Our last stop in Future World was a stroll by the construction for the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride with an opening expected in the fall of 2021.
After visiting the future it’s off to World Showcase to see what’s new!
Disney World’s Epcot World Showcase New Menu Items and Merchandise Updates
Our first stop on this trip was the Mexico Pavilion where we spotted La Cantina de San Angel has added a Chicken Taco to the kids’ meal options.
The always popular Choza de Margarita has added a Smokey Jalapeno Margarita to their menu.
While at Choza de Margarita you’ll also find they added a Tostada de Pollo and Esquites to their food and side options. (Those Esquites are amazing!)
Inside the Pyramid Shops you’ll find Day of the Dead (dia de los Muertos) mugs and shot glasses.
For fans of the movie Coco, you can decorate and personalize your own skeleton character on an interactive screen known as the Mirror de los Muertos.
When you’re in Norway you can now enjoy two new beers from their beer cart: Aass Pilsner and Redstone Mead.
Work is ongoing on Kringla Bakeri og Kafe. An opening date has not yet been announced.
A new tea has popped up in the China Pavilion at both the Joy of Tea and Lotus Blossom Cafe. The Milk Cap Lychee Tea is Lychee Tea topped with a creamy milk cap accented with a hint of Himalayan salt.
If you’re looking for a Jumbo Pretzel or Altenmunster Oktoberfest in the Germany Pavilion you can no longer find them at Sommerfest. However, you can still find Jumbo Pretzels at both the beer carts. Becks Pilsner has been added to the Sommerfest menu.
You can now grab a Knopper – a milky, hazelnutty, chocolate, crispy German treat – at Karamell Kuche.
Currently, Karamell Kuche is also offering the Marshmallow Wand discount – of 20% off when buy 2 or more – we first told you about last week.
When in Rome, or the Italy Pavilion, you eat pizza! The current specialty pizza at Via Napoli is Mozzarella di Bufata. This mozzarella pizza comes with vine-ripened tomato sauce and basil. If you want to dress your pizza up a bit you can add any additional topping from their menu to your pizza.
The Via Napoli Pizza Window remains under refurbishment.
We found some cute merchandise in the shops in Italy. If you have a coffee lover on your shopping list, or are a coffee lover yourself, you’ll have to pick up some of this new coffee-centric merchandise!
We love this collection of Caffe Italiano shirts!
They captured the look and feel of the Italy Pavilion perfectly in this artwork.
If all this coffee merchandise has made you thirsty pick up a new mug!
The next time you’re in the America Pavilion be sure to take the time to visit the “Creating Tradition: Innovation and Change in American Indian Art” exhibition at the American Heritage Gallery inside The American Adventure pavilion.
When in the America Pavilion you’ll find Block and Hans is being refurbished. There is a pop-up bar in the area during the refurbishment.
Fife and Drum continues to offer their Guardians of the Galaxy special items. The cast member we spoke to believes they will be there until the Food and Wine Festival starts August 30. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Mix Live! Concerts run until August 19 – so they might be leaving when the show ends.
There is a new Mac and Cheese Hot Dog at the Liberty Inn. Guardians of the Galaxy items are still available here as well, again probably through August 19 or August 30.
The America Shop is featuring a couple of new All-American T-Shirts.
You can get your coconut fix in the Morocco Pavilion’s Tangerine Cafe outdoor beverage bar when you pick up a new Coconut Pastry. If coconut isn’t your jam, then you can also pick up a Baklava Pastry.
When you’re in the France Pavilion to can see signs of the construction working being done to bring the Ratatouille ride to the park with an opening set for 2021.
There is some new merchandise in France featuring a more mature looking Belle. Let us know what you think of this artwork and merchandise.
And are they starting a new “thing” with Hidden Chips in this merchandise?
Finally, you too can have a magical rose in your house.
The royal baby is being celebrated in the United Kingdom pavilion. You can pick this tea towel up in the Tea Caddy shop.
Toast to the new baby with a Harp Lager that has returned to the Rose and Crown Outdoor Bar. However, the Innis and Gun, Sam Adams, and Newcastle Brown have been removed from the menu at this location.
We found a ton of new Mary Poppins and Peter Pan merchandise in the Tea Caddy.
If you’re ready to prepare tea the ever-prepared Mary is ready with this line of Practically Perfect items!
If you prefer cold drinks, here is your tumbler!
If you need somewhere to keep your treasures Mary is, of course, prepared:
This street sign is not practically perfect, it is perfect!
If Neverland is more your speed never fear – you can enjoy a tea set as well!
I love that these are exclusive to the World Showcase, too!
For to-go drinks enjoy this tumbler:
When seeking shade try one of these hats – there’s one for any style!
And if you collect magnets add these to your collection!
We closed out our world tour in the Canada Pavilion. We found a Blueberry Banjo Frosty and Blueberry Frosty at the Popcorn Cart. They have added Blanche de Chambly draft to this location. Labatt Blue is no longer available here, you’ll still find it in Trading Post Refreshments.
We found a lot of fun merchandise in Northwest Mercantile. We’ll start with Spirit Jerseys and T-Shirts.
Northwest Mercantile is also carrying a couple of Tervis Tumblers.
For a cup of coffee on those chilly Canadian mornings try out this mug:
Whew….we made it around the World Showcase and Future World in Epcot! Time for a quiet moment and to rest our feet! Enjoy the new treats and merchandise!
