NEW Breakfast Sandwiches on Disney World’s BoardWalk: Butter Butter, Ooey Gooey, and MORE!

It’s time for BREAKFAST on Disney World’s BoardWalk!

Boardwalk Bakery

Why? Because BoardWalk Bakery is serving up an array of new Breakfast Sandwiches, and we’re here to check out the menu, featuring Ooey Gooey, Oh That’s So Cheesy, Butter Butter, and Everything Everything Sandwiches! The BoardWalk Bakery serves breakfast from 6:30 – 11:00 am, and while we’re so often tempted by some of the sweeter offerings in their remarkable bakery case, how could we resist trying a couple of these?

The Ooey Gooey features a cage-free egg, cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, capicola, and an oven-dried tomato, all on an artisan roll. And the Everything Everything Sandwich takes a classic, super-savory Everything Bagel and fills it with a cage-free fried egg and Tillamook cheddar.

Oh That’s So Cheesy and Butter Butter Sandwich

The Oh That’s So Cheesy (if you thought by the name that this might be one of the sandwiches we’d pick, you were right 😉 ) starts with whole grain sunflower and oat bread.

Inside are scrambled eggs, bacon, and tomato.

The “That’s So Cheesy” part comes from the additions of smoked gouda, cheddar, and provolone cheeses!

The Butter Butter Sandwich — again, a no-brainer — takes brioche bread and includes shaved ham and scrambled eggs. The name of the sandwich stems from a buttery fontina cheese spread.

Both sandwiches were savory and tasty. But even though there is indeed a LOT of cheese in the Oh That’s So Cheesy, it wasn’t melty or gooey at all in the way that I’d expected (and frankly, hoped).

Mostly, it was heavy — as in, not sure if I’d eat a full one if I was planning to walk around the parks all day right after.

But the Butter Butter Sandwich was for sure the winner of the two. For starters, the brioche bread was delicious.

Ironically, the butter fontina spread wasn’t the star of the sandwich — that award goes to the plentiful shaved ham inside. However, it did lend just enough variation of an interesting flavor to land its spot in the name.

In any case, this new menu is a great feature for those who prefer to start their day with something savory over sweet (and also filling, thanks to the ample amounts of protein from the eggs in all the sandwiches and the meat in two of the options). They’re definitely a fun change of pace from your typical scrambled eggs and bacon, and just another reminder of why it’s always a good move to check out the BoardWalk Bakery, because you never know quite what to expect!
