Here’s What We Can’t WAIT To Try At The 2018 Epcot Food and Wine Festival!

Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival is a fabulous opportunity to eat lots of great food and to drink lots of great drinks. And while we know we’ll be putting some of our returning favorites on our must-eat list — we also make a second list: New Stuff We Can’t Wait to Try! (Yeah, we’re all about lists here at DFB!)

And this is that list — including a few items we got the chance to sample recently!

Guinness Baileys Shake – Ireland

The new Guinness Bailey’s Shake from the Ireland booth got us all kinds of excited when we saw it on the menu! We were expecting a frozen, creamy drink with a powerful hit of Guinness and Baileys — and that’s just what we got when we tried it during a preview! PLUS it comes with the glass! We can’t wait to try it again!

Mimosa Bar

The Shimmering Sips Mimosa Bar is brand new this year, and the offerings sound incredible! Mimosas include varieties like the Tropical Mimosa and the Madras Mimosa (which we have tried!), and there’s a tasty-sounding, kid-friendly drink called Frozen Apple Pie!

But aside from those intriguing drinks, the Mimosa Bar is also serving up pastries like an Almond Croissant and a Cheese Danish with Sweet Icing! One of each, please!

Cronuts – Taste Track

Cronuts have been tantalizing tastebuds at the Disney Parks for a couple of years now, with a trio making an appearance at Epcot’s International Festival of the Arts this past spring.

Trio of Savory Croissant Doughnuts

But Food and Wine is upping the game with its cronut offerings at Taste Track with Croissant Doughnuts in a variety of iterations: cinnamon sugar, chocolate and marshmallows, chocolate hazelnut cream, and sprinkles. How will we choose just one, that is the question. (Spoiler Alert: We totally WON’T choose.)

We imagine they’ll look a bit like this peppermint sprinkles offering at Epcot’s International Festival of the Holidays last year — and that’s cool with us!

Short Rib Tostada – Mexico

Ooh, a Short Rib Tostada! We are stoked to try this awesome combination of eats! The corn tortilla with short ribs, black beans, salsa verde, and onion sounds like a slightly twisted classic, and we are all about that! The Mexico food booth is also going to have a Shrimp Quesadilla that sounds like a terrific take on Mexican grub!

Poutines – Refreshment Port

Refreshment Port has two poutine versions on its Food and Wine menu this year — and one is a sweet vegetarian option! The Sweet Potato Poutine will be topped with caramel sauce, mini marshmallows, and pecans! We’re getting Grandma’s sweet potato pie vibes on this one! The other option is Beef Brisket Poutine topped with beer cheese sauce (!!!), poutine gravy, and crispy onions!

Refreshment Port has been serving up poutine (some topped with cheddar cheese soup!) for a while now, but we’re excited to try a couple new creations!

Butternut Squash Ravioli – Wine & Dine Studio

We’re pretty big fans of anything butternut squash-related, so when we spotted Butternut Squash Ravioli on the Wine & Dine Studio menu, we knew that had to go on our list! This version is served with brown butter vinaigrette, Parmesan cheese, and pumpkin seeds. We can’t wait to enjoy the balance of flavors and textures again!

Maple Bacon Funnel Cake – Funnel Cake Stand American Adventure

You had us at funnel cake, Funnel Cake Stand in American Adventure! 😉 This Festival offering is a Maple Bacon Funnel Cake topped with Candied Bacon, and it sounds amazing! The combination of sweet maple and salty bacon is almost always a winner, so we have high expectations. Putting those ingredients atop a crispy funnel cake? Please. We’re definitely in!

With so many options to eat at Epcot’s International Food and Wine Festival, it can be hard to narrow down the choices — but we always make room to try new things that sound fantastic (and some that sound downright interesting!). And that’s a great tip for the Festival: balance out those old favorites with some newcomers, and you’ll be sure to have a delicious time!
