Another NEW Mermaid Cupcake is Making a Splash in Disney World!
You may recall the absolutely awesome Mermaid Cupcake that arrived at Magic Kingdom’s Main Street Bakery just a couple weeks ago. If not, you really should check it out here. Because it will give you some reference for our comparison to ANOTHER brand new Mermaid Cupcake that you can currently find on Disney World’s BoardWalk at the BoardWalk Bakery…

Is this thing gorgeous or what?!? It’s even more sparkly than the Main Street Bakery Mermaid Cupcake, thanks to the addition of iridescent colors on the white chocolate mermaid tail and surrounding chocolate shells.

Since you now have a choice to make between TWO Mermaid Cupcakes in Disney World — each beautiful to look at in their own right — your ultimate selection may be determined by your flavor preferences.
So DFB Team Member Sarah Sands (who thankfully spotted this gem of a cupcake) gave us the scoop! The BoardWalk Bakery Mermaid Cupcake also has a vanilla cake base (no funfetti this time) with a sweet icing that lacks much in the way of flavor, save for the toasted coconut flakes on the top.

That coconut flavor is echoed with the bit of coconut pudding tucked inside. Since Sarah (like many of us coconut fans!) can “never have too much coconut,” she would have enjoyed even more coconut flavor, finding the rest of the cupcake to be a bit bland depsite its playful design.
As a reminder, we found that the Main Street Bakery Mermaid Cupcake — while having a very simple vanilla profile — nailed the taste factor (with both the funfetti cake and its richer buttercream frosting, too) as well as the overall look.
Of course, you may just want to get both for the ol’ Instagram feed ;). Speaking of which…
