What’s New at Walt Disney World’s Epcot: Scrunchies, Guardians of the Galaxy, Menu Updates, and MORE!
We hope you’re enjoying all that’s new at Walt Disney World this week! We’ve already visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs this week, and now we’re journeying to Epcot! So come along as we explore what’s new in food, merchandise, construction, and… vikings?
New Epcot Menus & Eats
First, let’s begin with a public service announcement: the hazelnut-flavored Rose Gold Cupcake at Sunshine Seasons is still available (and as pretty as ever!).
Guests can also dig into a new version of the Carrot Cake Cupcake here which — let’s be honest — does not look like a cupcake at all. Now it’s more of a “loaf.”
The Asian Vegetable Noodle Salad here now comes with Wakame and Spicy Mayonnaise.
And the Turkey Sandwich now has updated components: Bacon Jam, Avocado Aioli, and Monterey Jack Cheese! Sounds good to us!
A Barbeque Pork Sandwich with Maple Mustard Sauce has replaced the Reuben, which we enjoyed recently. Bummer for the Reuben lovers out there, but Maple Mustard BBQ Sauce sounds delicious!
At Fountain View — Epcot’s Starbucks location — the former Mocha Chocolate Brownie is now a simple Brownie.
And there’s a Millennial Pink Cupcake here for those looking to jump on the bandwagon (and those who just love pink anything!). You can see other Millennial Pink cupcakes in Disney World here!
And if you’re a Colossal Mickey Cinnamon Roll fan (or you’re looking to feed a small army!), you can now find this tasty guy here, too! (Also find it at Main Street Bakery and Creature Comforts in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, respectively.)
La Cava del Tequila has a 5 de Mayo drink for the Cinco de Mayo celebration. And the new Pina Loca Margarita has replaced the Minty Pineapple, while The Wild One has replaced Wild Passion Fruit.
In Germany, both Bier Carts have replaced the Oktoberfest Beer with Beck’s Pilsner.
At Liberty Inn in the American Adventure Pavilion, Broccoli Cheddar is now the seasonal soup.
At Rose & Crown‘s outdoor bar, Innis and Gunn has replaced Harp Lager.
Meanwhile the restaurant’s menu has seen a few changes. House-Made English Pie, Cold Smoked Salmon, Strip Steak and Fried Fish, and Loaded Yorkshire Pudding have all been removed.
Canada’s popcorn cart has replaced the Labatt Blue with Blanche de Chambly Draft.
New Epcot Merchandise
Merchandise at Epcot features a ton of new stuff — including Pixar accessories. But we’ll get to those scrunchies (!!!) in a moment. First, some Red, White, and Blue apparel!
And a cute Star Wars magnet.
Pixar merchandise includes some cute interchangeable bows and headband accessories. Up! is colorfully represented.
Dory is vibrant in classic yellow and blue.
Mike and Sully are totally awesome, with horns, fur, and one eye!
And Jessie’s representing for all the cowgirls.
But, friends, we just don’t know about this next bunch of gear. Because scrunchies. Furry, colorful scrunchies loaded with character but… still scrunchies. I know, I know — they’re back in style apparently? Let us know what you think!
Hair clips are a little easier to swallow, with the Toy Story aliens being a particularly fun option. We love the Woody and Jessie hats, too, though!
Epcot Construction
There’s plenty of construction happening in overt and not-so-overt ways at Epcot. The Via Napoli Pizza Window is getting a little refurb.
And Guardians of the Galaxy are rocketing into the old Universe of Energy.
Also visible from some locations is work being conducted at the back of the France Pavilion, where Remy is bringing his Ratatouille-inspired ride.
Epcot Viking Exhibit
Here at the DFB, we have used a lot of headers over the years, but this is the first time for Vikings. Gods of the Vikings recently opened, and we’ve got a look at the displays for ya.
Head over to the Stave Church in the Norway Pavilion for a look at history and present.
Epcot Moment of Zen
And finally, who can’t use an Italy Pavilion moment of zen? We sure can. Here you go, friends.
Ahhhh, we feel better already. Until next time, when we bring even more of What’s New in the World!
